The Child Visa (subclasses 101 and 802) allows a child to live in Australia with their parent, who must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or eligible New Zealand citizen. This visa grants permanent residency. You can apply either from outside Australia (subclass 101) or from within Australia (subclass 802). To be eligible, however, the child must be dependent on the sponsoring parent and must meet specific health, character, and age requirements. In addition, the applicant must provide the necessary documentation to support their application.
